A space built on care.
Updated 16 September 2026. These terms explain how to use SebTrack and care for the people whose memories are shared here.
Your account and space
Use an email you control and keep your password private. You are responsible for your account and the permissions you choose. New spaces are public and discoverable in A Universe of Energy by default. You can choose a private space before saving. A public link can be opened or forwarded by anyone. You can change these choices or delete a space in My Memorials.
Private words and shared care
Private letters belong to their writer. Space owners and family caretakers cannot read another person’s letters in the app. Invite only people you trust to help manage a space. Caretakers can edit details and review written memories; the owner keeps control of sharing, music, access and deletion. You can remove a caretaker at any time.
Email reminders for important dates are optional and off by default. You can pause them in your account or through an email’s pause link. Delivery times are approximate and email delivery cannot be guaranteed.
Share what you have permission to share
You keep the rights to your words, photographs, videos and recordings. By uploading them, you give SebTrack permission to store, process and display them according to your sharing choices, and confirm you have the necessary rights and permissions. This includes permission from people whose private information or images you share. Take particular care with children’s photographs and family disputes.
Only upload music you have the right to distribute here. Buying a recording or having a streaming subscription does not by itself grant that permission. Supported official music players are a separate listening option governed by the provider’s terms.
Treat people with kindness
Do not upload illegal material, sexual exploitation or abuse, threats, harassment, hateful attacks, fraudulent memorials, private information shared without authority, or content encouraging self-harm. Do not impersonate another person, use the service for spam or attempt to bypass security controls.
Reports and decisions
Candles appear immediately without an account. Visitor memories need the space owner’s or an invited family caretaker’s approval before other visitors can see them. Photo memories are no longer supported. Previously stored files and video memories remain private.
Anyone can report a space, memory or concern. We may restrict access, hide or remove content and suspend accounts while investigating or where needed to protect people or meet legal duties. Use the same form to appeal a decision or raise a copyright complaint. Include the link, reasons and an email if you want a reply.
The science behind the journey
Cremation releases chemical energy through combustion as heat, and hot matter emits infrared radiation. Some radiation escapes to space; some is absorbed by matter and may be emitted again later. The counter multiplies elapsed time from a chosen date and assumed time by the speed of infrared in a vacuum. It assumes uninterrupted travel and does not detect or locate an individual person’s radiation. A real memorial candle supplies energy from its fuel; digital candles do not start energy journeys. The maps visualise the calculation using arranged directions and compressed distances. Landmarks are distance comparisons.
Looking after your memories
Keep your own copies of precious photographs and recordings. We work to keep the service available, but interruptions can happen and availability is not guaranteed. Download your data before deleting an account. These terms do not exclude rights you have under applicable consumer law or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
